Comet Gain
Broken Record Prayers
Rating: 7.5/10.0
Recommended Tracks: 6, 7, 8, 14
RiYL: The Pastels, Sonic Youth, Huggy Bear
Comprised of singles, rarities, and a smattering of newer tracks recorded over a ten year span, Broken Record Prayers provides listeners with a jagged musical timeline reaching back to the roots of Comet Gain. As a result of the duration of recording, the album is very multi-faceted. Between French lyrics and instances of well composed, spoken word that is professed adjacent to punk influenced distortion, the contrasting mellow and energetic beats flow intermittently, controlling the overall mood of the album. Handsome Furs
Face Control
Rating: 7.8/10.0
Recommended Tracks: 1, 2, 5, 6
RiYL: Wolf Parade, …
