Interview - Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist

September 30th, 2008 by Garrett Burnett

I recently found myself in a very strange situation. I was sitting on a couch in a fifth floor room of the nicest hotel I have ever been in, with a fellow DJ, Agata S., and in walks Michael Cera and Kat Dennings. Little Teeth
Child Bearing Man

Rating: 7.1/10.0
Recommended Tracks: 1, 2, 5, 8
RiYL: Spastic and screechy, sometimes whiny vocals

Koushik
Out My Window

Rating: 7.8/10.0
Recommeded Tracks: 2, 3, 7, 9
RiYL: Caribou, Panda Bear, French Kicks, Madlib, Four Tet

DJs here have long touted the merits of their labelmates Madlib and the late J Dilla, as incongruous as it may sound… For the record, I’m still working on my hip-hop lingo. (more…)

Cub Scout Pack 727 Visits Radio UTD!

September 29th, 2008 by Stuart McAfee

We were honored to have the few good (young) men of Cub Scout Pack 727 grace the ranks of Radio UTD recently for a quick tour and demonstration. They came in on a Saturday morning and helped us play and announce some amazing music by Jens Lekman, Broken Social Scene, Of Montreal, and their personal favorite: Kimya Dawson.

They also told us what they wanted to be when they grew up! … HOW ADORABLE!

More pictures after the jump! (more…)
