Live - Leonard Cohen @ Nokia Theatre
April 5th, 2009 by Stuart McAfee
“I’m not here to fool you” croons Cohen in his immortal “Hallelujah“. He takes the stage as a recognizable, yet grayed and shaky-handed figure who still outshines his band with modesty and ease. Leonard Cohen has always been a definitive image of honesty, devotion, and self-struggle; an irresistible romantic spinning tales that are equal parts distilled passion, fractured faith, and shameless lust. Each poem is weighted with just enough familiarity to keep it grounded for the listener. Even in a full house, Leonard Cohen can speak to everyone:
“You came to me this morning and you handled me like meat. You’d have to be a man to know how good that feels, how sweet…” (more…)
Live - Chick Corea and John McLaughlin’s 5 Piece Band @ House of Blues
April 3rd, 2009 by Felipe Ruiz
Chick Corea and John McLaughlin’s Five Piece Band were booked on the same night as the Britney Spears, who performed in the nearby American Airlines Center; traffic was a nightmare. Many people had told me that Cut Copy’s shows were amazing, and that attending their show would be similar to going to one huge dance party. (more…)

Live - Theivery Corporation
November 18th, 2008 by Catalina Cuervo
In the midst of a huge crowd, a powerful force flows through the masses. It causes a collective, synchronized movement following the sensual rhythms and world beats of the Retaliation…
At the end of the American leg of the Radio Retaliation world tour, Thievery Corporation played the hell out of the Dallas House of Blues on October 26th. Promoting their fifth studio album Radio Retaliation—released in September of this year—Thievery began the tour in the duo’s home to of Washington, D.C., going all the way to Australia, Romania, England, Portugal, and Greece, sonically painting a very strong message of political and social awareness.
